Calinmeter's latest CA568 is a multi-jet STS compliant smart prepaid water meter. Built in accordance with latest international standards typically required in European and African markets, the meter works with a battery driven latched valve with over 10,000 open & shut rounds. The CA568 smart prepaid water meter guarantees continuously good metrology and revenue protection. The meter is available with wet, dry dial or semi-dry dial type on request.
A wireless CIU (customer interface unit) is available as an expansion keypad of the smart meter. The CIU is installed within customer's house while the meter is installed away from customer's reach. All prepaid metering takes place with the meter only; CIU only offers token input and info check such as token acceptance/rejection, credit status, and historical usage data.
This split design makes the meter immune to any tamper and fraud on CIU side. The meter adopts LoRa technology, allowing communication with a Customer Interface Unit (CIU) or head-end Server (HES) from a visual distance up to 2 miles.
To top-up or recharge the water meter, consumers simply purchase 20-digit credit tokens from vendors and input the code via the CIU.
